Find the ideal hob for you

TYPE

Induction – Make the most of your culinary skills. Induction hobs are quick heating and extremely responsive meaning that you can confidently use techniques where the right temperature is crucial. If you need even more versatility you can even select an induction hob with flexible cooking zones. The surface around the pots on an induction hob stays cool, making it very safe. 

Gas – A popular choice for home cooks and chefs alike, the open flame of gas hobs making heat truly visible. Gas hobs are easy to control and can be used with all types of pan. Our new generation high-speed burners get you cooking up to 20% faster compared to standard gas burners. 

Electric –  With a heating system that hides under a tough ceramic glass surface electric hobs are smooth and easy to clean. Electric hobs work with all types of pans and offer cooking zones in different sizes.

SPACE 

Select your hob depending on the space you have available.

30-36 cm – Hobs that fit this space have 1 or 2 cooking zones and they are ideal for compact living and smaller kitchens.
60 cm – This is the most common hob size and will suit most households, offering 3 or 4 cooking zones.
70, 75, 80 or 90 cm – Ideal for a larger family or an aspiring home cook, these widths cater for hobs with up to 6 cooking zones. Hobs of this size can also offer flexible cooking zones.

Remember: Your countertop needs to be at least 25 to 30 mm deep to accommodate our hobs.

COOKING

Think about the types of cooking you do before you select a hob. Here are some examples.

Quick recipes - pasta dishes, stir fries etc.– A quick heating hob is preferred. Select an induction hobs with a power booster to speed up cooking. Some gas hobs will also come with a powerful wok-zone that is excellent for making quick stir-fries for the whole family.

Advanced techniques - Melting, water baths, steaming etc. – An induction hob will give you the precise temperature control to tackle advanced techniques with confidence. Induction takes you from cool to hot – and back again – immediately. 

Large Casseroles or stews – Gas and electric hobs offer flexibility with a wide range of burner sizes and extendable zones for larger pots and pans. Alternatively, induction hobs with flexible zones allow you to merge two individuals zones into larger one.

CLEANING

Induction hobs – Our intelligent induction technology heats pans and the food in them, but nothing else. The surface around the pans stays cool. So nothing gets burnt on, and the sleek, flat surface means there's nowhere for dirt to hide. 

Gas hobs – Gas hobs with glass ceramic surfaces are easier to clean than those stainless steel. If you spill while cooking you can just wipe it away without worrying about scratches and stains. 

Electric hobs – The smooth ceramic surface of electric hobs is easy to keep spotless and clean.

SAFETY

Induction – Induction heats only the pans and the food in them, but nothing else - the surface around stays cool and safe to touch. The control panel can also be locked to prevent unintentional heating.

Gas – The ability to easily see the flame helps keep cooking safe. The gas supply is also automatically shut off every time the flame goes out. 

Electric – The child safety lock ensures that the hob cannot be accidentally engaged. The residual heat indicator will also let you know when the hob is cool and safe to touch again.
