Find the ideal cooker for you
YOUR COMPANION FOR COOKING UP GREATNESS
The cooker is a good value alternative to buying an oven and a hob individually. There are a few factors to consider when looking for a cooker. The heat source available, the types of cooking you prefer and the size of your household all influence which cooker you should select. Follow our simple buying guide to find the ideal cooker for you.
SPACE & CONFIGURATION
Select your cooker depending on the kitchen space available and the desired configuration of the appliance. Choose between a freestanding and a range type of cooker.
60cm-wide – Freestanding cookers allow the choice of combining various types of hobs and ovens providing great flexibility.
100cm-wide – Range cookers are more generously-sized and have an outstanding capacity. Thanks to the extra width the hob features six heating zones instead of the standard four.
Top-tip: When deciding on the types of hob and oven for your cooker, browse our Buying guides for hobs and ovens to make the best choice.
FUEL
Depending on the heat source available, you can choose between electric or gas cooker – or enjoy advantages of both.
Gas cookers give you instant and precise heat control. It’s a superior choice if you need powerful heat for your stir-fry.
Electric cookers are easy to clean and come equipped with intelligent features. The even heat distribution in electric ovens makes them ideal for baking.
Dual fuel cookers combine the benefits of both electricity and gas. Opt for the range cooker by AEG that tops a multifunctional electric oven with an ample gas hob.
CAPACITY
If you cook for a big family or lots of friends, you may enjoy a cooker with greater capacity. Oven capacity is measured in litres.
70+ litres – perfect for bigger households of four or more.
40 – 70 litres – best suited to a house of three to four.
Most of the AEG cookers come with a double oven, allowing you to grill and cook at the same time. When looking at the cookers with a double oven, it is common to compare their largest compartments.
Top-tip: Increase cooking capacity by selecting an appliance with extra shelf positions in the oven.
ENERGY
Save money on energy bills while helping the environment. The energy rating of an appliance is labelled on a scale from A+++ (most energy efficient) to G (least efficient). Opt for a cooker with good energy rating, such as A or higher.
CLEANING
Want to save time on cleaning and avoid chemicals?
Look for a cooker with catalytic coating. Catalitic liners oxidise grease and food residue in the ovens when heated to 230°C. Simply wipe away the ash for perfectly clean result.
